Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

ABC ANNOUNCES THE SEASON PREMIERES OF “SCRUBS” AND “BETTER OFF TED
Back-to-Back Episodes of “Scrubs” Air Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 9:00 and 9:30 p.m., ET; “Better Off Ted” Premieres Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 9:30 p.m.
The hit half-hour comedy series “Scrubs” will return to ABC this December for its ninth season. This irreverent and offbeat comedy will debut TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, with back-to-back episodes from 9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 p.m., ET. On TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8, the critically acclaimed comedy “Better Off Ted” will begin its sophomore season at 9:30 p.m., ET, following an original episode of “Scrubs.”

Scrubs” focuses on the unique point of view of Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff). Having left the hospital temporarily for a job at another hospital, he returns to Sacred Heart to teach med school. Together with Drs. Turk (Donald Faison), Cox (John C. McGinley), Kelso (Ken Jenkins) and intern Denise (Eliza Coupe), he is now professor to a class of brand new medical students Lucy (Kerry Bishe), Drew (Michael Mosley) and Cole (Dave Franco) while continuing his romance with the beautiful but socially awkward Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke).

At 9:00 p.m., in an episode entitled, “Our First Day of School,” J.D., Turk, Drs. Cox and Kelso and Intern Denise return to Sacred Heart to teach med school while new med students Lucy, Drew, Cole and Maya are put through the ringer on their first day of school. At 9:30 p.m., in “Our Drunk Friend,” Lucy learns a hard lesson about what it takes to be a doctor. Meanwhile J.D. and Turk spot a potential love connection between Denise and the new med student Drew, as they play matchmakers with a little bit of help from Dr. Kelso.

“Scrubs” stars Zach Braff as J.D., Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid, Donald Faison as Chris Turk, John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox, Ken Jenkins as Dr. Bob Kelso and Eliza Coupe as Denise. Joining the cast are Kerry Bishe as Lucy, Michael Mosley as Drew and Dave Franco as Cole. “Scrubs” is produced by ABC Studios. Bill Lawrence (”Spin City”) is the executive producer and creator.

Better Off Ted” is a satirical office comedy about successful good guy, Ted Crisp, who runs research and development at Veridian Dynamics, a company with a morally questionable approach to its employees. Whether it’s standing by a memo with a typo that encourages employees to now (as opposed to not) use offensive language with each other, to championing interoffice dating based on DNA matching to save money on health care, Veridian is a company that puts its bottom line first and employees last. Ted’s a single dad to a seven year old girl, and he loves his job, but he’s starting to take a closer look at the company’s extremely dubious practices.

“Better Off Ted” stars Jay Harrington as Ted, Portia de Rossi as Veronica, Andrea Anders as Linda, Jonathan Slavin as Phil, Malcolm Barrett as Lem and Isabella Acres as Rose. The series is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television. Victor Fresco (”My Name Is Earl,” “Andy Richter Controls the Universe”) is executive producer and creator of the series.

We’re getting sick of these false celebrity death reports. Last week it was Scrubs star Zach Braff, this week it’s Kanye West, but the rapper’s girlfriend says he’s very much alive.

“This RIPKanyeWest topic is not funny and its NOT TRUE!” Rose wrote on Twitter.  “He has people like myself and his family that love him very much.”

She continued, “Its in extreme poor taste to have that as a trendy topic. It’s totally disrespectful to make up a story like this where all human and we all make mistakes and to say someone died cuz of a mistake is ridiculous. U wouldn’t want someone to say that about u Or someone u love it’s not funny. #LongLiveYeezy!!!!!”

The post has since been removed, however, with the model posted multiple quotes from West’s songs saying, “I’ll always ride for my man!!!! I’m bout to get off here and still RIDE for him. LITERALLY. Holla!”

Scrubs” star Sarah Chalke recently sat down with TV Guide, and during the discussion we got a pretty good idea of what the revamped version of the long-running comedy will look like. (Warning: if you don’t want potential spoilers, now is the time to turn away.)

Chalke said that, first of all, her real-life pregnancy would in fact be written into the show; just like in the vision J.D. (Zach Braff) had at the end of this past season, Elliot will be married to her fellow doctor and expecting a baby. She claims that creator “Bill [Lawrence] was very generous to write it in, so I’m not, like, carrying a giant chart or something in front of my belly all the time.” She said that the plan was too do a few episodes until the baby gets too big before returning after a brief hiatus. Even though the story of J. D. and Elliot is not the primary story anymore, it will still have a place.

She also confirmed what many have been saying for months, that the return of “Scrubs” will be more in a classroom setting and focus more on Dr. Turk (Donald Faison) as a teacher alongside his former boss Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley). Zach Braff will still appear, though it will only be in a small handful of episodes.

Are you excited to see “Scrubs” back on the air in January, or do you think the show should’ve ended last season? Let me know your thoughts with a comment below!

Scrubs - More New Cast Members

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

‘Scrubs’ taps two, rounding out cast

Michael Mosley and up-and-comer Kerry Bishe have landed the remaining two new starring roles on ABC’s “Scrubs.”

The two join Dave Franco as the three new regulars on the veteran comedy, which is shifting its setting to a medical school next season.

Mosley will play Drew, a scruffy and attractive thirysomething med student, who is getting his second shot at medical school after a major meltdown 10 years ago when he was a top candidate at Harvard Medical School.

Despite being a decade older than the other students, he is not happy about being given the role of de facto “mentor” to the young students and completely resists any friendships that may come out of that.

Bishe will play Lucy, a 22-year-old first-year med student who is an attractive all-American girl and the first in her close-knit family of commercial fishermen to go to college. Lucy is bright and has learned impressive surgical skills from gutting fish, but is overwhelmed by the pressure of the workload, the new environment and the expectations of her family.

Mosley, recently seen in “The Proposal,” is repped by Gersh and Smith Talent Group.

Scrubs - First Series Regular Cast

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Sacred Heart University — that’s what we’ve dubbed it for now — has just accepted a new first year med student.

Sources tell me Dave Franco has been cast as a “Scrubs“‘ series regular, the first of three new actors to join the show later this year.

You may recognize Franco from “Privileged” on which he played Rose (Lucy Hale)’s boyfriend Zach. Or, perhaps, you see the resemblance between him and his big brother, James.

Either way, if you’re a “Scrubs” fan, you’ll get to know Dave later this year when he takes on the role of “Cole,” a 22-year-old medical student, who might rub people the wrong way. I’m hearing he’s a crazy entitled, rich kid whose family has no problem using their money to give him an edge.

As you can imagine, Dr. Cox will be a huge fan of his. Or just hate him with a nasty vengeance… which I very much look forward to seeing.
